The purpose of this page is to foster communication between those in the consumer driven arena, and our representatives in Washington DC. We as citizens of the United States have the privilege of being able to affect legislation through our representatives. However this privilege is rarely used and as a result has led to complacency on the Hill. Currently the 111th Congress is taking steps to nationalize our health care system through the creation of a public plan. Some members of Congress have proposed financing this public plan through taxing your Flexible Spending Accounts, decreasing your HSA deductable, and repealing Over the Counter Drugs as a qualified medical expense to name just a few changes. We at DataPath have already taken steps to preserve our current health care system by contacting our representatives; however we cannot fight this battle alone. We need you to contact your elected officials through mail, phone, email or visitations to representatives' state or federal offices. Below are links on what the Congress is purposing, a how to guide on lobbying your representatives and updates on committee and legislative actions. It is our hope that you value your right to choose your health plan and begin the process of actively contacting your respective representatives. Thank you for your interest and we here at DataPath look forward to working with you. Sincerely, |
